Verizon Launches New Programming Package “Extreme HD”

Verizon’s FiOS TV has launched new programming package with more high-definition channels. The new package is “Extreme HD,” which include 50 high-definition channels and more than 200 standard definition channels. Extreme HD will replace Premier Package, which offered 20 HD channels. This new programming package is available in the New York area, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Portland, Oregon and Fort Wayne, Indiana. Verizon is expected to launch the new package in several markets before this month end.

Verizon’s FiOS TV also launched “FiOS TV Essentials,” includes up to nine local HD channels. Verizon spokeswoman Heather Wilner said “Verizon is constantly launching new HD content in each region, and offering a lot of this HD content as part of the Extreme HD service tier.”
