ESPN has announced that it will deliver the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying match featuring United States vs. Mexico on Wednesday, Aug. 12, from Azteca Stadium in Mexico City. ESPN Deportes will provide eight hours of live news and information programming around the match led by three live hours of Futbol Picante.
Costa Rica leads the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying series for the CONCACAF region with 12 points followed by United States with 10 points. Mexico is No. 4 in the standings with 6 points. USA and Mexico entering the final round of The 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying.
ESPN begin’s its coverage on Monday, August 11, with Pedro Gomez reporting from Miami, Fla., site of the U.S. Team training camp. Gomez will travel with the team to Mexico City where he’ll appear through Wednesday’s post-match reports on SportsCenter, ESPN2’s First Take and ESPNEWS.
