ESPN announced that Earvin Johnson has joined the sports network as an NBA studio analyst. Johnson also known as Magic Johnson played for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association. He will provide his expert analyst for ABC’s GMC NBA Countdown and work along with Stuart Scott, Mike Wilbon and Jon Barry. His first assignment will be Christmas Day, when ESPN and ABC combine to provide an NBA tripleheader beginning at 12 p.m. ET on ESPN.<br/>
“Magic has always been one of the most accomplished people in every field he has endeavored. He was an incomparable player and has become one of the best NBA analysts in the business. His unique insights, perspective and personality will be the perfect complement to Stuart, Mik and Jon,” said Norby Williamson, executive vice president, production.
