Dish Network And NBC Universal’s 2008 Beijing Olympic Coverage Reached Record Audience

Dish Network has announced that NBC Universal’s coverage of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games reached 41 percent of its subscribers through interactive television services. The satcaster along with NBCU and Ensequence presented NBC Olympics interactive programming, which was well received by Dish’s subscribers. Nielsen Media Research also announced that NBC Universal’s Beijing Olympic coverage was viewed by more Americans than any event in U.S.television history. NBCU’s coverage reached 214 million total viewers, which is a record viewership surpassed earlier Olympic coverages.
