DirecTV Begin HD Broadcast in Latin America With Four HD Channels

DirecTV has started broadcasting high-definition programming in Latin American market from November 1, with the launch of four HD channels. DirecTV has launched two channels in premium package and other two in HD programming pack.
DirecTV also planning to launch Sports pack in 2009 and include these premium channels in Sports pack. Following are the new HD channels launched in Latin America:

HBO HD

DirecTV HD

Fox HD and

Movie City HD

DirecTV has launched HBO and Fox in the premium pack and planning to go head with many new sports programming channels like NBA TV, NFL Network, The League of Spanish Football (La Liga), The MLB and also to broadcast FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010.
DirecTV’s HD services are available in GBA, La Plata, Zarate, the City of Buenos Aires, Campana and Mercedes. New subscribers signing to this HD programming will receive an HD DVR that can store 100 hours of HD programming or 400 hours of standard definition programming.
